County and national governments on spot over plight of Solai residents

Both National and Nakuru county goverments are on spot after residents of Solai Nyakinyua village accused the two levels over delayed promises after the residents were hit by tragedy of Nyaru Dam.

The dam which developed a big hole at the center and swallowed its water that left huge fault lines that are upto date widening.

Nakuru County Disaster Management Ann Njenga who visited the site on 5th February this year said that ten families had no choice other than relocating and promised that the County Government would chip in and help resettle the families but her promises have never been done.

The families that relocated have expressed their grievances saying that rental houses are too small to accommodate their children.

“We relocated but then we cannot fit in the rentals since they are samll”they said.

They are now seeking the government to help relocate them to areas in their shambas which were not affected.
