A charity group has called for a collective responsibility towards ensuring orphans and vulnerable children in society realize their dreams in life.
Hope 4 Kenya Charity group says the vulnerable children have a destiny too and they need to be embraced in society.



Speaking during a visit to Israel Faith Children’s Home in Kiamunyeki-Lanet in Nakuru County, Elizabeth Newsome from Hope 4 Kenya says the role of taking care of orphans and vulnerable children should not be left to caretakers alone.
While noting that the homes have challenges such as funding, Ms Newsome called on well-wishers to step in and ensure the children realize their dreams.
“We all have a responsibility to put a smile on the faces of these children. In whatever little we can it can bring a change” she said
And with the COVID-19 pandemic and children having to stay home longer before schools resume,Ms Newsome says the government to should work to ensure challenges that children have faced during the period are addressed.
She cited vises such as rape, defilement and mental health issues that should be looked into once the schools resume.
“When schools resume the government should ensure that challenges came with COVID-19 pandemic are addressed” she said.
During the visit, Hope 4 Kenya Charity group donated various food and non-food items to Israel Faith Children’s Home besides sharing lunch with the children.
The charity group has been visiting various children’s homes in Nakuru county giving hope to the children.
The group has partnered with various stakeholders among them the Methodist Church Steve House who is on Congress Campaign trail.
Pastor Nancy Mukami is the in charge at Israel Faith Children’s Home in Kiamunyeki-Lanet in Nakuru since 2008.
She lauded Hope 4 Kenya for the gesture of ensuring that the children do not feel left out in the society.
Her appeal to the community is to embrace the vulnerable children and help in transforming their lives.
“We are grateful for the visitors and the gifts they have given to us. This has given us hope an we call on all well-wishers to step in and assist the vulnerable children including those on the street for they also have a destiny” she said.
