GROOTS Kenya has a new Executive Director, Ms. Rachel Kagoiya.
Ms. Rachel has officially joined GROOTS Kenya effective February 20, 2024.
She joins GROOTS Kenya from FemnetProg (African Women’s Development and Communication Network) 1/5.

Rachel takes over from Ms. Fridah Githuku, who has since transitioned to a new role.
This is according to a statement from GROOTS Kenya.
“We thank Ms. Fridah for her exemplary performance as our former Executive Director. We celebrate her achievements, commitment, zeal, and passion in which she served,” reads part of the statement.
Rachael has worked for a pan-African network for 17 years.
Prior to that, she served in different leadership capacities at the UNEP, Kenyatta University among others.
She brings on board a wealth of experience in women’s rights, policy influencing and advocacy, gender programming.
“Her knowledge and experience will steer this organization to the next level of growth and development,” the organization stated.
