Kabazi ward MCA Dr.Peter Mbae has faulted the BBI report on the 5% ward development fund proposal.
Mbae says the fund should be increased to 15% to realize development at grassroot.
If the report is implemented as it is,Mbae says, the common citizens at grassroot level will miss out on development.
He has appealed to those behind the BBI report to ensure the fund is increased before the report is tabled in the county assemblies.
“We need to ensure Development at grassroot level by ensuring that the ward Development fund is increased to 15% minimum” said Mbae.
The report which is being launched on Monday proposes 35% revenue allocation to counties with only 5% expected to be rolled down to ward level.
Meanwhile,Mbae says the Constitution is being subjected to unnecessary amendments that might cost this country in future.
According to the vocal Nakuru MCA,there is need to work out on some issues before the the BBI report becomes a Bill.
“We are subjecting the Constitution to some changes that might cost us in future. The BBI should be people centred rather than individual centred” said Mbae.
He says the report should be people-centred rather than individuals centred.
