Bahati Parliamentary seat aspirant on DCP Party 2027 Mary Justus Mannabay has vowed to continue supporting young people realize their dreams.
Speaking during Chipua Talanta concert at the Mannabay Foundation grounds, she stated that for many years young people have been left on their own despite the huge potential they have.
The politician told off those who have been elected but have failed to put the interests of the young people at their heart.
While pointing out that leadership is all about addressing the challenges facing the people, Mary Mannabay was categorical that moving forward to 2027, she will continue with her initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of the people of Bahati.
Mannabay who has declared interest in the Bahati Parliamentary seat on DCP Party ticket, added that politics of Bahati must be reshaped moving forward and ensure true and genuine leaders who can deliver are in place come 2027.
“We need true and genuine leaders who can deliver, not leaders with mere promises,” she said.
Mannabay who was the Chief Guest during the Chipua Talanta concert, was categorical that the youth can only be empowered not through rhetorics, but through initiatives and activities.
She pointed out that with the long holidays, the young people need to be kept busy through various initiatives that will help boost their livelihoods.
The concert was themed on Culture bringing all tribes together.
Mannabay pointed out that drugs and substance abuse have continued to mess up young people.
It is for this reason that she called out the need to ensure proper policies in place that can help the young people as well as ensure employment from various companies within Bahati such as Geothermal Development Company.
This, she said will help address the unemployment challenge that is affecting young people.
“We need proper policies in place that can help our youth and unleash their potential in various sectors. We have our young people engaging in drugs because they have no one to assist them, and that is why as Mannabay, I am coming up with initiatives that will help them,” she said.
It should be noted under the talent and growth initiative, several youth have been sponsored to various levels through education.
Already a music production studio has been created at the Mannabay Foundation offices.
According to her, this will go a long way in the talents growth by giving young people in music industry a time to record their music pieces for free.
“We have a studio that we shall soon officially open to allow our talented young musicians record their pieces here for free,” she said.
During the event, winners in various categories were awarded by Mary Justus Mannabay.
The event was also graced by a team from DCP Nakuru led by Secretary General Simon Sangale Ole Nasieku.
Speaking at the event, Nasieku lauded Mannabay for enabling close to 2000 youth get National Identification cards and register as voters.
“I’m grateful that Mannabay has enabled close to 2000 youth register as voters. She has also helped in terms of talents growth among young people,” he said.
Nasieku appealed to Bahati Constituents to ensure that they vote in Mannabay come 2027 so that development can be realized.
Sentiments echoed by Mr. Hezron Manyara and Janet Moraa who also graced the event.
The duo urged young people to ensure they register as voters.
During the meeting, Mannabay made a call to DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua who addressed the GenZs and young people of Bahati Constituency who had turned up at the event in large numbers.
Through the phone call, Gachagua urged the young people to remain vigilant and ensure they walk together in the journey of reshaping politics in the country.
