Assistant Commissioner warns ilegal betting machines operators in Gilgil

Gilgil Municipality Assistant County Commissioner Catherine Wangui Njoroge has warned those operating betting/gamming/patapotea machines without license that their days are numbered.

Speaking on Thursday after impounding 33 gaming machines in Gilgil Town in an operation against the illegal machines, the ACC said such machines operating without license are a menace wasting the lives of many youths.

She added that the machines can only be allowed to operate if the owners have betting licenses as well as county Government Licenses.

“Today we have impounded 33 gaming machines operating without license in Gilgil Town. We sound a warning to those operating similar that their days are numbered “she said.

The operation led by the Gilgil ACC, Chiefs and Assistant chiefs in the area on illicit brew and illegal gaming machines also saw 100 litres of illicit brew destroyed in IDP camp in Mbaruk location Gilgil.

The operation in Mbaruk IDP camp was conducted by area District AP Commander.
Meanwhile, one person was also arrested in another raid along Njuri Ncheke area where 100 litres of Kangara was netted.
