Since establishment, Anne Mwithaga Foundation has continued to work towards restoration of dignity among teenage girls.
This is through sanitary pads donation that the Foundation through partners continue to donate to girls in various estates in Nakuru County.
AMF founder Ms Anne Mwithaga says the harsh economic times has seen many girls miss school for three or four days due to lack of pads as they cannot afford to purchase.
To address the challenge, Ms Anne Mwithaga has been talking to friends and partners towards supporting the initiative.
The recent activity happened in Kivumbini Ward on Thursday August 7, 2025 where over 150 girls were reached.
“We have been able to reach over 150 girls in Kivumbini. Their dignity has been restored and their voices awakened,” she stated.
Besides the distribution of sanitary pads, the Foundation also engaged the girls in a powerful session raising awareness on the scourge of child sex abuse.
Such coming timely owing to the recent exposé by BBC on child trafficking and sexual abuse in Mai Mahiu.
Ms Anne Mwithaga condemned the incidents, calling for action against perpetrators of such.
She urged parents and society at large to ensure collective responsibility in safeguarding children’s rights.
“Our girls are not for sale. Our girls deserve safety, education, and dignity. We stand against child sex trafficking in all its forms,” she stated.
The AMF founder also took the opportunity to appreciate Kiongozi Mau, MP David Gikaria, MCA Fadhili Msuri, Irene Towett ,Jose Furaha BnB’s, the community, local leaders, and volunteers who walked with the foundation in this fight.
According to her, this is just the beginning as there is more work ahead in ensuring rights of children. This is just the beginning.
