The school will now be called Nakuru Mixed Senior School.

The decision was reached at during a consultative meeting held on Monday January 12, 2026 between education officers from Ministry of Education, NGAO, parents, teachers and members of the community.

This follows numerous challenges that have been facing the school, among them low enrollement due to negative perception among community members.

She added that there is need for performances of the school to be publicized so as to encourage parents to enroll their children.

Sentiments echoed by Francis Shinali who called on community to take ownership of the school.

“Despite enough TSC teachers(9), we have a challenge of low enrollement. As a community we need to embrace this school and ensure we revive it,” stated Shinali.

Area Assistant Chief Jane Muthoni also called on parents to work closely with other stakeholders in shaping the school.

She reiterated that the government is committed towards 100 percent transition.
