Nakuru residents wake up to shocking news of demise of Mr Kamau Murumbi

Residents of Nakuru on Sunday woke up to the shocking news of demise of Mr. Kamau Murumbi.

He is said to have developed complications on Saturday night and succumbed while being taken to Hospital.

Born and raised in Machanga estate of Kivumbini Ward in Nakuru East sub county before shifting to Flamingo estate in Flamingo Ward, Mr. Murumbi will be remembered for his great socialization spirit.

An alumni of Menengai High School, Kamau was also a member of the Catholic Men Association, and an active choir member of the fourth Mass at Cathedral Church of Christ the King.

The deceased was also part of Security team at the Nakuru Agricultural Society of Kenya during show days.

Many Nakuru residents including journalists have recalled how the deceased used to interact with everyone in society.

Amadi Kahero- a resident of Paul Machanga Estate recalls the early days and how the late interacted with people from all social classes.

Sentiments echoed by Charles Okumu who recalls that the late was an alumni of Kisulisuli Primary School in Biashara Ward.

Nakuru senior Journalist Kioko WA Kivandi termed Kamau’s death as very Catholic citing that he got critically ill when ‘All Saints Day’ was ending and passed on as ‘All Souls Day’ was starting.

“Looks like even his death is very Catholic. He got critically ill as ‘All Saints Day’ was ending and passed on as ‘All Souls Day’ was starting,” he said.

Another Journalist Wanjiru Macharia termed the death of Kamau as a blow bot only to the church but also  journalism industry in Nakuru.

According to her, Kamau was a darling to many.

“Kamau was a darling to many, me included. May his soul rest easy,” she said.

Suleiman Mbatiah, a senior photojournalist in Nakuru also remembered the deceased.

He stated that Kamau helped make his work easier during coverage of church events.

“Sad. The dude was very friendly. For over 15 years, he made my coverage of the Njia ya Msalaba and other catholic events inside and outside the church so easy. May he RIP,” said Mbatiah.
