39 Graduate From John Mututho Rehabilitation Centre

The county Governments as well as National Government should ensure that all revenue collected from liquor is used in rehabilitating Alcohol addicts according to  John Mututho.
The former NACADA Chair  says according to the Alcohol control Bill, all revenue collected from legal liquor Businesses should be maximized in rehabilitation centers as a way of addressing alcohol and drug addiction in the country.
Speaking on Friday at JOMEC Rehabilitation Centre in Nakuru during the first graduation ceremony of 39 victims of alcohol and drug abuse of who have reformed, Mututho said a time has come for laws to be implemented.
“We have seen 39 graduants today having gone complete detoxic and they will report back here as from 18th to 22nd of this month for empowerment so that they can go on with their lives but the government must ensure that the revenue collected from liquor business is used in such rehabs” he said.

Graduates Daniel Mungai Ng’ang’a and Gicharu Kimondoi could not hide their joy after undergoing the treatment and that they were now a changed lot.
Mututho added that the Government should learn from the example he has set in dealing with the Alcohol addiction issue.
He said if treatment and rehabilitation can be embraced then the issue of alcohol and drug addiction will be something of the past.
“I talk with much pain when I see how many youths are languishing in drugs and alcohol abuse. If we can reason together then I believe the issue can be addressed once and for all” he said.

“We must agree that the issue of alcohol addiction is affecting not only Mount Kenya region but almost all our counties and a time is now to act just as Hon. Mututho has shown us. I personally will revisit the Nakuru county Alcohol bill to see how we can help address the menace” she said.
Kihika was accompanied by among others Nyandarua county speaker Hon. Ndegwa and Nyeri county speaker Hon.David Mwangi Mugo who had earlier in the Day attended the first Nyandarua County breakfast prayer meeting.
